Filling
T he skived areas are filled with a special rubber compound and are stiched to force out air bubbles then trimmed flush with the casing.
O n repaired tires, the injuries are built back up to their original size and trimmed to match the construction of the tire.
RepairsPreparing the repair area. After cleaning the repair area, we immediately coat it with cement to keep moisture from contacting with steel and creating rust (in radials) or causing plies to separate (in bias-ply tires). - The Cement is not put on too thickly but enough is applied so it works its way into every crevice, to insure proper adhesion.
- Finally we stitch the patch into place by hand, to ensure a tight bond.
All our repairs follow strict guidelines set by the O.E. Tire Manufactures on repair limitations and by our supplier Patch Rubber Co. When cured by heat and pressure, these repairs provide the maximum adhesion available while maintaining it's flexibility.
